England lock Ewels banned for three games after red card

England lock Charlie Ewels has been banned for three matches after being sent off in the Six Nations defeat to Ireland on March 12.

Ewels received a red card after just 82 seconds following a clash of heads on a tackle attempt with James Ryan.

It was the earliest dismissal in the Championship’s 139-year history.

He will miss England’s final tournament match against France and matches against the Sale Sharks and Worcester Warriors for his Bath club.

More to follow.
