Liverpool 'plan to be as annoying as possible' to Man City in title race – Klopp

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said he plans to challenge Manchester City in the Premier League title race by being “as annoying as possible”.

His team is four points behind Pep Guardiola’s City, who dropped points in Monday’s game. 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace.

The two teams will meet on April 10 at the Etihad Stadium in what could be a title decider.

The Reds, who have a game to play, face Arsenal on Wednesday and a victory would allow them to reduce the difference to one point.

“This is the plan [to push City]Klopp said. “The plan is to be as annoying as possible. We have to win our games.

“It’s end after end after end that we play. We’re not ten points ahead with 10 to go. It’s in front of us: attack it, chase it, go for it. It’s the only chance we have.”

Liverpool are on an eight-match winning streak in the Premier League, while Arsenal, Wednesday’s opponents, have won their last five games.

Klopp said they can’t count on scoring points against the Gunners away from home, while Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said it would be a great achievement for his team to win against Liverpool.

“Being able to beat the fittest team in the country would be really big, so that’s the goal tomorrow,” Arteta said.

Arsenal moved into the top four with three games remaining over fifth-placed Manchester United after a 2-0 win against Leicester on Sunday, but Arteta feels that his team is not yet among the best in the Premier League.

“We haven’t done anything,” he said. “What we are doing is trying to improve, better understand what we want, be much more consistent in performance and results, but nothing more at the moment.”
