Kane's record goal helps Spurs win at Brighton

Harry Kane scored as Tottenham reignited their hopes of breaking into the top four by condemning Brighton to a sixth successive Premier League defeat.

England striker Kane ran into an incisive pass from Rodrigo Bentancur to finish off Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sanchez with a low effort to seal a well-deserved victory for the visitors.

The goal marked Kane’s 95th away from home in the Premier League, a new record and, if it hadn’t been for some finishing errors, could have added to his tally.

Cristian Romero had put Spurs in front earlier, deflecting a low effort from Dejan Kulusevski that blasted past a defenseless Sánchez into the bottom left corner.

The result lifts Antonio Conte’s men to seventh in the table and was the perfect response to the loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford last Saturday.

However, the ease with which the Italian team won will worry Seagulls manager Graham Potter, whose team remains in 13th place having won just once in their last 10 games.
