Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, the British-Iranian woman detained in Iran nearly six years ago, has been released and is returning to the UK.
The 43-year-old woman was arrested in 2016 and charged with plotting to overthrow the Iranian government, which she denied.
His MP, Tulip Siddiq, tweeted that Ms Zaghari-Ratcliffe was at Tehran airport and was “on her way home”.
He had been under house arrest and this week his UK passport was returned to him.
Her husband, Richard Ratcliffe, who lives with their daughter Gabriella in Hampstead, London, had campaigned for her release, including going on a hunger strike in October last year.
