Britain’s Keely Hodgkinson withdrew from the 800m at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Belgrade with a quadriceps injury.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 20-year-old was due to compete in the Belgrade qualifiers on Saturday, but <\/span>taken out in the morning.<\/span>external link<\/title><\/path><\/svg><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Hodgkinson was a heavy favorite to win medals, having won Olympic silver in the discipline in Tokyo last year.<\/span><\/p>\n

She is also due to compete in the 4x400m, with heats taking place on Sunday in Serbia.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hodgkinson set a new British record of one minute 57.20 seconds in his 800m win at the Muller Indoor Grand Prix at Birmingham in February.<\/span><\/p>\n

Her compatriot Jenny Selman will run in the first 800m heat.<\/span><\/p>\n
