Here are five things to know about the coronavirus pandemic this Thursday morning.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Scottish government provided \u00a34.4bn in grants and business fee relief between the start of the pandemic and October last year. A further \u00a3375m was announced following Omicron’s appearance last winter. But spending watchdog Audit Scotland says it can’t pinpoint where the nearly \u00a35bn of Covid business funding went, so it can’t provide a detailed analysis. The speed and scale of the deployment helped safeguard thousands of jobs and businesses, the government says.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Most people would still be willing to vacation abroad this year, despite the possibility of higher ticket prices, according to a travel company. The industry is confident that it will recover after the coronavirus restrictions. That’s what public health expert Christine Tait-Burkard thinks, and she says the resurgence has been fueled by a new, more transmissible subvariant of Omicron.
