Transport Minister Robert Courts told the House of Commons he was “frankly angry” at the way P&O Ferries staff were sacked without warning and escorted off their ships.
He has told company management that the treatment of “dedicated and hard-working staff” was “totally unacceptable”.
Courts said he would ask unions and Department for Work and Pensions staff to support staff who have lost their jobs.
